There are cashew snacks, and then there are Thoothukudi Pepper Cashews. The difference is the coast, the pepper, and the conviction.
Thoothukudi, the port town of Tuticorin on Tamil Nadu's southern coast, has been a cashew trading centre since the Portuguese brought the nut to India centuries ago. The town's cashew industry is among India's oldest, and its pepper-roasted cashews are the product of that long knowledge: whole cashews, deep and buttery, punched through with freshly cracked black pepper and the barest touch of sea salt. No flavour enhancers. No gimmicks. Just the cashew doing what a well-sourced cashew does when treated with care.
Our Thoothukudi Pepper Cashews are made on the coast with cashews sourced from the region, dry-roasted in a way that brings out the nut's natural butteriness while letting the black pepper cut through cleanly. No palm oil. No artificial flavours or preservatives. Just cashew, pepper, and salt. At ₹320, this is the premium of the Patang range, and it earns it.
By themselves, with a good whisky. On a cheeseboard alongside something sharp. As a finishing touch over biryani or pilaf. Or simply as the snack you reach for when a bowl of chips feels like a step down.
Shelf life: 240 days from manufacture, the longest in the Patang range. Store in a cool, dry place. Refrigeration extends freshness further once opened.
