Kolhapur doesn't do mild. Not in its mutton, not in its tambda rassa, and absolutely not in its Bhadang. This is puffed rice that has made a decision about itself.

Bhadang is Kolhapur's own namkeen, a spiced puffed rice snack that carries the city's unmistakable chilli heat. In the markets and tea stalls of Kolhapur, Bhadang is served in newspaper cones, mixed to order with a masala so particular to this city that it doesn't taste quite right anywhere else. The key is the dried coconut and the Kolhapuri red chilli masala, both fiercer and more fragrant than their counterparts from other regions.

Our Kolhapuri Bhadang is made in Kolhapur, not a factory interpretation of it. Puffed rice, peanuts, and dried coconut, fried without palm oil and tossed in the real masala. The heat is not a gimmick. It builds. It lingers. It earns itself. No palm oil. No artificial colours or flavours.

The city way: in a paper cone with green chilli and raw onion on the side. Or straight from the pack. Pairs with chai, cold beer, or any evening that needs a little waking up.

Shelf life: 150 days from manufacture. Keep sealed and away from moisture, puffed rice is the enemy of humidity.

What is Kolhapuri Bhadang?
Kolhapuri Bhadang is a dry, spiced puffed rice (murmura) namkeen from Kolhapur, Maharashtra. It is made with peanuts, puffed rice (poha) and Kolhapuri red chilli masala, and is considerably spicier than most puffed rice snacks sold elsewhere in India.
Is Bhadang the same as Bhel Puri?
No. Bhel puri is a freshly assembled street food with chutneys and raw vegetables. Bhadang is a shelf-stable dry namkeen — the spice is part of the preparation, not added fresh. The two share puffed rice as a base ingredient and not much else.
How spicy is it?
Genuinely spicy, Kolhapuri food is known for its heat, and Bhadang delivers on that.
Does it contain palm oil?
No. We use sunflower oil. No palm oil is used in any Patang product — it is one of the foundational choices we made when building this brand.
